  • Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for recognizing July 22 through July 28 as “Aviation Week.”

“In Wisconsin, aviation, including general aviation, and our network of airports support the livelihood of businesses, towns, cities, and farms across the state and country,” said Devin Osting, interim executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “Across the state, general aviation supports an economic impact of $3.6 billion, more than 20,000 jobs and a total labor income of more than $1 billion. We thank Governor Evers for his leadership in recognizing the importance of aviation and look forward to further working with him and other leaders to support these aircraft and our network of airports.”

Jack Pelton, CEO and Chairman of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), said, “We appreciate Governor Evers’ recognition of ‘Aviation Week,’ coinciding with the week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.  The ‘World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration’ produces $170 million in economic impact for the region and involves 677,000 participants and 10,000 aircraft.  We are proud to host this annual community event in the great state of Wisconsin.”
