Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Governor Gretchen Whitmer for recognizing September as “Aviation Month.” According to the 2017 Michigan Aviation System Plan, general aviation airports annually contribute $5.2 billion to the state’s economy.

“In Michigan, general aviation and our network of airports support the livelihood of businesses, towns, cities, and farms across the state and country,” said Selena Shilad, executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We thank Governor Whitmer for her leadership in recognizing the importance of general aviation and look forward to working with her and other leaders to support these aircraft and our network of airports.”
