Washington, DC – Today, The Alliance for Aviation Across America welcomed the release of new aviation economic impact data produced by Tennessee Department of Transportation. The study, the 2019 Aviation Economic Impact Study, shows that the total economic impact of the state’s airports in 2019 was $40 billion.
“This study shows the economic benefits and valuable services that general aviation provides to Tennessee,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “Our network of public-use airports are vital to communities across Tennessee, supporting businesses, farmers, law enforcement, and medical responders. We sincerely thank Michelle Frazier, the Aeronautics Director, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation for releasing this report, which highlights the benefits of general aviation and airports, across the state.”
This study not only highlights the economic benefits of general aviation and airports across Tennessee but also the importance of this infrastructure in supporting businesses and essential services. Furthermore, these aircraft and airports play an important role in encouraging enthusiasm in flying, which will help grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals.
