Washington, DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA) released the following statement in response to the announcement that Senator John Boozman (R-AR) and Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) will serve as co-chairs of the General Aviation Caucus in the United States Senate.
We are thrilled that Senators Boozman (R-AR) and Manchin (D-WV) have assumed these leadership positions in the General Aviation Caucus in the United States Senate, said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. Both Senator Boozman and Senator Manchin have been long-time leaders on issues related to aviation and general aviation in particular, and we look forward to working with them to protect this vital lifeline and industry in America.

In Arkansas, general aviation contributes $500 million to the state’s economy, while in West Virginia, general aviation contributes $616 million to the state. In addition, general aviation and local airports support emergency medical and healthcare services, law-enforcement, firefighting and disaster relief throughout the country.
