The Alliance Commends Merced Mayor Thurston for Declaring June ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’
Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Mayor Stanley P. Thurston of Merced, California for proclaiming June 2014 “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In California, general aviation contributes $18.2 billion annually to the state’s economy.
“Mayor Thurston’s proclamation helps highlight the essential services and economic benefits that general aviation provides to Merced and the state of California,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We want to thank the mayor and the city for recognizing the value of this important industry.”
