  • The Alliance for Aviation Across America has applauded Delaware Gov. Jack Markell for declaring June 2014 Delaware General Aviation Month. In Delaware, general aviation accounts for $118 million in annual economic activity statewide.

“We commend Governor Markell for recognizing the crucial role of general aviation in Delaware and throughout the nation,” said Selena Shilad, executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “In addition to helping to drive business and economic growth, general aviation connects communities with critical life-saving services, including law enforcement, emergency medical response, firefighting, search-and-rescue, and disaster relief.”

General aviation helps businesses operate more efficiently, allowing them to reach far-off markets and rural areas that otherwise would not be accessible, minimizing travel time between meetings and allowing them to transport tools and supplies. General aviation supports agriculture, law enforcement, medical care, disaster relief, and a host of other important services.
