The Alliance Commends California Legislature for Declaring April 23rd ‘California Aviation Awareness Day’
Washington DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America commended both the California State Senate and California State Assembly for issuing resolutions declaring April 23, 2014 as “California Aviation Awareness Day.” The resolutions were introduced in coordination with the second annual California Aviation Awareness Day, which was held at the State Capitol in Sacramento. In California, aviation supports 1.1 million jobs and $154.7 billion in economic impact annually. General aviation alone represents $18.2 billion in economic activity in California.
“We commend the California State Senate and State Assembly for recognizing the critical importance of the general aviation, which supports businesses and jobs throughout the state, as well as critical services such as law enforcement, fire-fighting, emergency medical response, and search and rescue operations,” stated Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America.
