    National Aviation Organizations Commend North Dakota Governor for Declaring March ‘Aviation Month’

    Washington, DC — Today, national aviation organizations commended North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple for declaring March as “Aviation Month.” Aviation contributes over $1.6 billion annually to North Dakota’s economy.

    “We are grateful for the Governor’s proclamation and support of this important industry. Governor Dalrymple’s proclamation helps to educate the public about the massive economic impact general aviation has in North Dakota and across the country,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America (AAAA).

    “General aviation and community airports are essential in connecting businesses and communities with goods and services across the state,” stated Mark Baker, President and CEO of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). “We commend Governor Dalrymple’s support of aviation in North Dakota and thank him for this proclamation.”

    “Business aviation is not only an economic driver in North Dakota, but a powerful job creator and a necessary tool for connecting businesses with consumers,” said Ed Bolen, President and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). “We thank Governor Dalrymple for his recognition of general aviation.

    “General aviation and North Dakota’s vast system of airports connect communities with many vital services, medical care and law enforcement,” stated Kim Stevens, Interim President and CEO of the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO). “Governor Dalrymple’s proclamation is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to working with him, and Aeronautics Commission Acting Director Kyle Wanner, in the future.”
