Washington, D.C., May 8, 2008 – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today issued the following statement after the Senate suspended consideration of FAA reauthorization legislation yesterday:
“On behalf of small businesses, non-profit organizations, elected officials and communities across the nation that depend on aviation, including Essential Air Service and general aviation, we applaud the Senate Commerce and Finance Committees for reaching bipartisan agreement on the financing portion of the FAA reauthorization bill, and urge the full Senate to pass this important legislation. This bill will guarantee funding to reauthorize the FAA, ensure that airport improvement projects nation-wide can continue, and provide necessary funding for modernization of our air traffic control system. We look forward to continuing to work with Congress on this critically needed legislation. ”
