Skybound Family Festival Brings Free Aviation, STEM Activities to Marshfield Municipal Airport Saturday

  • MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAW) – A celebration of aviation, science, and community is coming to central Wisconsin Saturday as the Marshfield Municipal Airport hosts the annual Skybound Family Festival.

    The free event, which serves as a fundraiser for Discovery Education Station, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

    It’s happening at the Marshfield Municipal Airport, located at 400 W. 29th St. in Marshfield.

    All proceeds from the festival’s raffle baskets will support the construction of Discovery Education Station’s planned new, inclusive facility designed to serve children and adults of all abilities.

    Highlights of the festival include:

    Free Fly-In Breakfast: Served from 9-11 a.m. while supplies last.

    Aviation & Technology Displays: Featuring live aircraft displays, the LifeLink helicopter, Marshfield drones, a Humvee, and ham radio demonstrations.

    Family Activities: Including free bounce houses, a free mining sluice bag for every child, remote-control cars, hot air balloon science, hands-on STEM activities, and a family scavenger hunt.

    Animal Ambassadors: An opportunity to meet bunnies, chinchillas, and farm animals.

    Local vendors and family businesses will be on-site, and lunch will be available for purchase from Sobo Street Eats.
