  • Washington, D.C. – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy for proclaiming May “Aviation Appreciation Month.” The aviation industry contributes more than $3.8 billion annually to Alaska’s economy and supports more than 35,000 jobs.

“Alaska stands as a shining example of how general aviation sustains entire communities,” said Devin Osting, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “With over eighty percent of the state’s communities unreachable by road, general aviation serves as the backbone for healthcare delivery, economic opportunity, and connection to remote areas.

“In Alaska, aviation isn’t a convenience—it’s a lifeline. It’s no surprise that the state is home to more pilots and aircraft per capita than anywhere else in the world. We appreciate Governor Dunleavy’s recognition of ‘Aviation Appreciation Month,’ and the pilots, aviation professionals and critical infrastructure that make Alaska’s economy and way of life possible.”
