  • The City of Trenton has announced the completion of a hangar construction project at the Trenton Municipal Airport, marking the culmination of a multi-year effort to expand aviation infrastructure and support future development.

The project began in 2023 with preliminary dirt work designed to elevate the hangar sites above the flood zone. Construction resumed in 2025 following the awarding of a contract to Nail Construction for the erection of a new six-bay T-hangar.

City officials report the newly completed hangars will be available for lease, joining existing structures at the airport and increasing overall capacity. The expansion is expected to support additional economic development opportunities and improve eligibility for future aviation-related grant funding.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place at the airport on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., providing the public with an opportunity to view the upgraded facilities.

Individuals interested in leasing hangar space for aircraft storage are encouraged to contact Airport Manager Wes Barone at 660-359-2013 for additional information.
