The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for recognizing September as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” General aviation airports in Michigan support an economic impact of $5.2 billion.
“General aviation and our network of airports support the livelihood of towns and cities throughout Michigan and across the country,” said Devin Osting, interim executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “General aviation helps businesses of all sizes operate more efficiently, especially in rural communities, and supports critical services, such as transporting patients to the University of Michigan Health System.”
“We thank Governor Whitmer for her leadership in recognizing the importance of general aviation and look forward to further working with her and other leaders to support this vital form of transportation.”
