Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Mayor Barbara G. Volk of Hendersonville, North Carolina for proclaiming December “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” General aviation airports in the state of North Carolina support over $4.9 billion in total economic output.

The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like the Hendersonville Airport, but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
