Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton is touting the success of the Crawfordsville Regional Airport under a year of new leadership. Barton says Lori Curless’ hiring as airport manager in late 2017 was the catalyst for a successful year.
Curless’ efforts include a 53% increase in Jet A fuel sales, and a 31% increase in overall fuel sales. Barton says Curless also established the first Airport Community Day in 2018, which was a day-long event allowing community members to explore aircraft like the IU Health Lifeline helicopter and radio-controlled aircraft demonstrations.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the work Lori and the Board of Aviation Commissioners have done this past year,” said Barton, “Through collaboration and leadership, we are transforming our airport into a world-class regional amenity.”
Curless and the Board of Aviation Commissioners also implemented a $10 increase per lease and will continue to develop a hangar lease strategy to support future lease operations. A celebration will be held September 7 to commemorate the airport’s 75th anniversary.
