JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Jerome County Airport hosted its annual Airport Appreciation Day and Fly-in on Saturday.
The event is an effort to introduce aviation to kids and connect the airport with the community.
To kick off the appreciation day, the Jerome County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team held a breakfast fundraiser to raise money for equipment.
Plane rides were provided for the community to enjoy with a fee, but the proceeds help with maintaining the airport.
“Our flight takes off right here from Jerome, they go over the city of Jerome and turn south on Lincoln go all the way to the canyon,” said interim airport manager Justin McMillan.
