The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Governor Eric Greitens for declaring April 2018 “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Missouri, general aviation airports support over $857 million in economic activity each year.
“General aviation and local airports play a vital role in supporting commerce and public safety, as well as Missouri’s immense agricultural industry,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We thank Governor Greitens for issuing this proclamation and recognizing the importance of general aviation.”
“Business aviation is essential to companies of all sizes in the Show-Me state, helping them compete in a fast-paced, global economy,” said Ed Bolen, President and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association. “We thank the governor for highlighting this important industry, and look forward to working with him on issues significant to business aviation.”
According to the proclamation:
“The State of Missouri has a significant interest in the continued vitality of general aviation, aerospace, aircraft manufacturing, educational institutions, and aviation organizations and community airports and airport operators”
