(Riverton) – Riverton Mayor Lars Baker and Pinedale Mayor Bob Jones are among 115 of their counterparts from all fifty states who are opposing the proposed privatization of air traffic control at airports, especially those in rural areas.
They are sending a letter to Congress prepared by the Alliance for Aviation Across America to express their opposition to the proposal.
Congress is debating the proposal as part of the reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration but the mayors and the Alliance say it would be risky to privatize air traffic control.
