The Alliance for Aviation Across America on Wednesday commended Mayors Ruth Penney-Bell and Bob Bruggeman of Texarkana, Ark., and Texas, for jointly proclaiming February 2017 General Aviation Appreciation Month.
In Arkansas, general aviation airports support an economic value of more than $494M annually. In Texas, it’s over $14.5 billion.
“Mayor Penney-Bell’s and Mayor Bruggeman’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to the cities of Texarkana and the states of Arkansas and Texas,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the Mayors and the Cities of Texarkana for recognizing this vital industry.”
