  • Texas Air Shuttle, a new scheduled public charter operation, has launched service in Texas. Flying Beechcraft King Air 200s with two pilots, the company is operating scheduled routes between McKinney National Airport north of Dallas; Conroe/North Houston Regional Airport; Stinson Municipal Airport south of San Antonio; and Austin Executive Airport.

Two membership plans are offered, featuring what has become a typical business model for this type of operations: all-you-can-fly for a fixed monthly fee. The executive plan costs $1,895 per month and includes two outstanding reservations and one free guest pass. The super commuter plan for $2,850 per month includes six outstanding reservations and one guest pass. No other fees are assessed, although members must pay the 7.5-percent federal excise tax on their monthly fees plus $4 per flight segment.

Texas Air Shuttle plans to serve additional cities in Texas and surrounding states and will eventually add jets, including Cessna Citation Bravos, to its fleet.
