A small delegation carrying some 2,000 vintage style lapel pins bearing the motto, “Oklahoma is Aviation,” 100 khaki hats, and a big message has descended on the world’s biggest air show, the annual Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EEA) AirVenture held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Officials and key staff from the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission (OAC), Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC), Enid Regional Development Alliance (ERDA), Enid Woodring Regional Airport, City of Ada, Bartlesville Development Authority and Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OG&E) have partnered to rent booth #3141 and host a Saturday luncheon during AirVenture.
Oklahoma’s Senator Jim Inhofe provides the keynote address at noon on Saturday. Oklahoma Aeronotics Commission Director Vic Bird says Senator Inhofe has championed all things aviation in our state. General aviation, airports, our aerospace industry and our air force bases have all benefitted from his advocacy and leadership. He has also been part of the solution to any problem that we have faced at the federal level.
This Inhofe’s 37th year to attend EAA’s Airventure Oshkosh.
Oklahoma aviation enthusiasts spotted at Oshkosh this year include Congressman Steve Russell, former OKC Mayor Kirk Humphreys, and Aeronautics Commissioner Jerry Hunter.
