A Terre Haute airport has a new name.
The Terre Haute International Airport is now officially the Terre Haute Regional Airport.
Officials made the announcement at a news conference on Tuesday morning.
They say there are a few reasons for the name change…but the biggest is they want to make sure they are representing who they truly are.
“We’re thinking with the change of the name to what we actually are, that might help some of the business here and at the airport as well because international tends to scare off a lot of general aviation folks,” Jeff Hauser from the airport said.
Mayor Duke Bennett also attended the announcement.
He says the name change could benefit the city as well.
