What was just an idea, is now coming to life.
With the backdrop of Ozark city as its scenery, the much anticipated General Aviation Airport Terminal is now nearing completion.
Despite the weather, construction of the terminal has managed to stay on schedule, and is expected to finally open their doors in just a few short months.
The terminal construction is currently in phase three, which consists of final building touches and road and parking construction.
The 3900 square foot terminal sits atop Highway 231 and marks a new milestone for the city.
Director of Aviation Services, Stephanie Blankenship says the terminal was built with intentions of meeting the special needs of local pilots, and those flying into Ozark.
The new terminal is said to be state-of-the art and will feature all of the latest technology and amenities, including a pilot’s lounge, video conference rooms, and a fully-equipped kitchen among other things.
“A lot of emphasis has been put on our conference rooms, the pilot’s lounge, the pilot’s planning area. It’s a very high tech building. We’ll have video conferencing, smart boards. we’re trying to meet a need in this area for anybody not just the aviation community,” said Blankenship.
Once the terminal is completed, it will be available for area businesses and organizations to use the conference center and other amenities.
The terminal is set to be open by late June-August.
