The bill that would allow Rankin and Madison counties to have members on the Jackson Municipal Airport Board has passed the state House.
Supporters of the bill on Wednesday used speed-reading software to go over the bill, but said opponents threw them a delay tactic.
Opponents of the takeover said what they heard could not be understood and all the bills should be read aloud.
The bills were read aloud in the Senate on Wednesday.
Thursday morning the legislative session continued and the vote was made in the afternoon.
The speed-reading software was used again, but a slower pace.
The bill now goes to Gov. Phil Bryant, who will likely sign it.
