Officials at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport announced Monday the addition of a charter flight to a beachfront resort on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.
The flight to Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi will depart the Unity airport May 5 and return May 8, airport officials said.
“It’s rewarding and reassuring every time we are able to add service such as this,” said Arnold Palmer, the golf legend and current chairman of the Westmoreland County Airport Authority.
The authority expects more charter flights will be offered in the future, but nothing has been finalized, airport spokesman Dwayne Pickels said.
Sun Country Airlines of Mendota Heights, Minn., will operate the flight on a 126-seat Boeing 737-700 for MGM Resorts International, the casino owner.
The three-night travel package includes round-trip airfare, accommodations, ground transportation between Gulfport-Biloxi Airport and the Beau Rivage and $40 in free slot play.
Those interested in the charter can make reservations by calling Preferred Casino Tours at 800-842-7724.
