The Iberia Parish Airport Authority has announced the contract award for an Acadiana Regional Airport passenger terminal that will be named after a decorated New Iberia fighter pilot.
The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1J2VACs ) reports Executive Director Jason Devillier announced Tuesday that E.L. Habetz Builders Inc. will build the terminal for $740,700. The airport authority will also pay an extra $78,500 for items including a canopy, terminal barriers and furniture for the terminal.
The airport authority will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the terminal Jan. 28 at the airport. The terminal has been named after Air Force Brig. Gen. Wiltz Paul Segura.
Construction on the 1,400-square-foot facility is expected to take about nine months. Airport and parish officials are continuing to attract a commercial airline to the airport.
