A $504,000 grant will benefit the Dutchess County Airport in Wappingers Falls, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney announced Friday.
The investment from the Department of Transportation will fund the replacement of the airport’s airfield electrical vault.
The Dutchess County Airport has an annual economic impact of $44 million for the area, with 73,000 takeoffs and landings each year, according to Maloney’s website.
“The Dutchess County Airport is one of most important economic engines in the Hudson Valley,” Maloney said in a statement. “This investment will create jobs, boost the local economy, and strengthen one of the busiest non-commercial airports in the state, while ensuring the safety of our neighbors, businesses and visitors.”
