SPOKANE, Wash. – A local company announced Thursday that it will begin construction on a flight center at Felts Field.
EFT LLC will be building the Felts Field General Aviation Flight Center. Leaders said the Flight Center will be a 40,000 square foot multi-tenant complex with an Art Deco style that will incorporate many of the elements found in the historic buildings and hangars on Felts Field.
Airport leaders said the center will be west of the Historic Spokane Airport Terminal building. The center will be home to Western Aviation and Honor Point Military and Aerospace Museum.
“I am honored to be part of a project that will benefit the Spokane Community. For many years Historic Felts Field has been in need of a first class FBO (Fix Base Operator) facility that provides the service one expects from a city of our size,” said EFT LLC President, Tim Grump.
Western Aviation is Felts Field’s only “Fixed Base Operator.” The FBO offers many services to the flying community including aircraft maintenance, avionics installation, hangar rental, pilot supply and a gift shop.
The project will he financed through Washington Trust Bank and constructed by Blews Construction. EFT LLC expects the Flight Center to be completed by the end of the year.
