BENNER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — University Park Airport is expecting growth during the next two decades and tonight they unveiled their master plan to the public. The plan is required by the FAA and includes research-based goals for the future of the airport.
Officials said a nonstop flight to Orlando could be the top destination that would be added to the airport.
“We are making certain that we have a good, viable airport moving forward into the future and we want to do that in a responsible way. We don’t want to overbuild we want to build them as needed and as the demand justifies,” Bryan Rodgers, with the University Park Airport, said.
Three major airlines can now be found at University Park including– Delta, United Express and US-Airways, which fly nonstop to major cities like Detroit, Chicago and soon Atlanta. Officials said they are expecting even more growth in the next two decades.
