Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-2) and U.S. Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring an on-time arrival for the new Conway Municipal Airport. Last week, the members facilitated a conference call between the Federal Aviation Administration and Conway officials in order to determine next steps, including securing adequate funding, to help the city meet its August deadline.
“Improving Arkansas’ infrastructure is essential for economic growth, and the new Cantrell Field airport in Conway will make this vibrant community more accessible and help create jobs. I will continue to work with Conway officials and Senators Pryor and Boozman to ensure Cantrell Field meets its goal to open later this summer,” Griffin said.
“Conway has helped lead the way to job growth and economic development in Central Arkansas,” Pryor said. “This new airport is another step forward for Conway and our state’s economy.”
I’m proud to be part of this team effort, and I look forward to seeing this project completed.”
“The Conway Municipal Airport is a critical investment into the economic needs of this growing region. We are happy to play a role in bringing the appropriate people and agencies together for a discussion on how to maintain momentum so we can continue to improve this infrastructure that is necessary to job creation,” Boozman said.
