  • CONCORD, N.C. — Concord’s airport is getting ready for its first commercial flights later this month.

The Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will start its jet service from Concord to Orlando on Dec. 20. Wednesday the airport director let Channel 9 get a look at the changes made to accommodate the new service.

One of the most noticeable features is all the new signage to help direct future passengers.

City leaders said the new flights will help bring business to the area. Allegiant is promising discounted fares of $99 round-trip as a part of its roll out.
