EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Evansville Regional Airport is getting a $13.7 million federal grant to help complete a runway project early.
Rep. Larry Bucshon announced the airport in his district received a U.S. Department of Transportation discretionary grant for the project.
Airport Manager Doug Joest says the grant will allow it complete the project more than a year before the deadline of Dec. 31, 2015.
The airport needs to make improvements to the runway to meet federal safety standards.
