Air passenger traffic took a big jump in August at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, up 27 percent compared with August 2012.
The airport was closed for a time last August for construction, which accounts for some of the difference.
United Airlines captured 36 percent of the market, with Delta Airlines at 30 percent. Fourteen percent of passengers flew American Airlines, while 11 percent traveled on Allegiant and 10 percent flew with Frontier Airlines.
Freight traveling through the airport increased 15 percent compared with last year.
