The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded three Maine airports about $4.4 million in grants to fund infrastructure improvements.
The Portland Press Herald reported the Portland International Jetport will receive $1.4 million to pay for snow-removal equipment, including snow plows and a snow-sweeping vehicle.
The Bangor Daily News reported the Bangor International Airport will receive two grants totaling $2.6 million to fund repairs to drainage systems and upgrades to LED runway lights.
Another $500,000 for the Princeton Municipal Airport will go toward a new taxiway for planes to access the airport’s runway.
