The Greater Rochester International Airport will receive more than $1.4 million to repair sections of its runways and extend its safety area.
The money is coming from a federal Department of Transportation grant, and was announced in joint release by U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
“This is an important investment for the Rochester International Airport and the surrounding region,” Gillibrand said in a prepared statement. “Improving the airport’s runway can help provide better, saferservice for travelers and businesses, and help strengthen the local economy.”
