DALHART, TEXAS — The state approved funding for Dalhart Municipal Airport for airport improvements.
Approximately $501,000 was approved by the Texas Transportation Commission through the TxDot Aviation Facilities Grant Program which preserves and improves the state’s general aviation system.
According to TxDot, the Aviation Division of TxDot has $60 million that they get from the Federal Government to put towards aviation improvements all around the state.
“This is a chance for the city of Dalhart to be able to beef up the runways that they have to improve,” said TxDot Amarillo District spokesman Paul Braun.
The funds will be used for planned airport improvements including pavement improvements.
“The concrete was the worst part,” said Belva Griego who works at Dalhart Municipal Airport as an office manager at BCL Management Inc.
