Alexandria, Va. – During the first week of December, HAI joined with other general aviation associations to host a reception for members of the bipartisan congressional General Aviation Caucuses.
Held at a restaurant not far from the U.S. Capitol, the reception drew members of Congress and their staffs, including the co-chairs of the House GA Caucus, Reps. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) and John Barrow (D-Ga.). HAI President Matt Zuccaro, Executive Vice President Ed DiCampli, and other association staff members represented the helicopter industry at the reception.

The General Aviation Caucuses are made up of representatives and senators who are interested in and support the many benefits general aviation provides the nation. Many of the caucus members serve on the House and Senate aviation subcommittees, but many more do not. They simply want to see general aviation – including helicopter operators – thrive in the U.S. Because of their interest, caucus members have served as educators, ensuring that their fellow members fully understand the impacts and implications of bills that affect general aviation.
