Study Assesses Economic Impact of Indiana Airports

  • Indiana’s 69 public-use airports contribute a total of $14.1 billion in economic output and create and sustain more than 69,000 jobs in Indiana, according to the newly released 2012 Indiana Airports Economic Impact Study.

    The study also revealed that businesses that use Indiana airports account for a total payroll of $4.1 billion. Of the total 69,149 jobs, approximately 30 percent exist at Indianapolis International, another 23 percent are based at Indiana’s other three commercial airports, and the remaining 47 percent are located at the state’s 65 general aviation airports.
