To celebrate National Aerospace Week, Aero Minnesota and the Aitkin Flyers Club will be holding an event at the Aitkin Airport called “Intro to Careers in Aviation.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, with lunch provided. It will be open to all Aitkin High School juniors and seniors.
Military (including a Yak 52, Russian-made military trainer) and general aviation aircraft will be on display and aviation professionals will be on hand to discuss careers in aviation. Topics will include scholarship and educational opportunities, aviation mechanics, pilot training and commercial pilot opportunities.
