Today, Alliance members participated in a meeting with Senator John Thune (R-SD) at Sioux Falls Regional Airport. It was an excellent opportunity to share the economic impacts and other benefits of general aviation, as well as voice our concerns, especially in light of upcoming budget talks.
“It is always nice to listen to the perspective of those directly involved in the issues,” said Thune. “Hearing from them further reinforces that general aviation and community airports are a great resource to South Dakota and to the country, providing business opportunities and protecting public safety. With my work on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, I look forward to a continued partnership with aviation stakeholders and local leaders to best support this vital asset.”
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to participate and thank Senator Thune for taking the time to listen to our concerns.
