The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States
The White House
Washington, DC 20500
Dear Mr. President:
I write today to express my support for the important role that general aviation plays in the economies of states across the nation. General aviation supports jobs and is a significant economic engine for our national economy. New Hampshire’s 24 public general aviation airports serve 5,908 pilots and 2,055 general aviation aircraft, which supports thousands of jobs and has millions of dollars in economic impact.
General aviation has been hit hard by the economic downturn. General aviation aircraft and the airports they use represent a critical link to emergency services, economic opportunity and global markets. It is important that this important infrastructure remain in place and that we maintain it at a level that allows it to openly operate safely and efficiently.
I hope that you will join me in recognizing the importance of this industry to our national economy, and in taking steps to preserve this important transportation industry and its infrastructure whenever possible.
Sincerely,
John H. Lynch
Governor
