On June 27, 2011 Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead signed a proclamation declaring June “General Aviation Appreciation Month. In attendance during the signing event were Amber E. Schlabs, who is the Aviation Business and Marketing Manager at the Wyoming Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division as well as Aren Ghazarians who is the Research Director at the Alliance for Aviation Across America. Wyoming becomes the 29th state to sign a proclamation recognizing the importance of aviation and the economic impact this industry has on state economy. General aviation contributes $353 million to the state’s economy annually, supporting over 14,000 jobs. Wyoming has 40 general aviation airports, which serve 2,645 pilots and 1,907 general aviation aircraft. To read the proclamtion, click here.
